Listening to the radio
These ace the basic steps necessary to ooerate
tie radio. Mere advanced tuner operation :s

'7 BAND indicator
Shows which bard ihe rad-c is tuneg tc, AM
or FM.
2 FREQUENCY indicator
Snows to which frequency the tuner is
tuned.
3. PRESET NUMBER indicator
Shows what preset has been selected.
4 STEREO (2°) indicator
Snows that the frequency selected 1s being
broadcast in stereo.

Press SOURCE to select the tuner.

Use VOLUME to adjust the sound level.
Rotate to increase or decrease the volume.

Press BAND/ESC to select a band.
Press BAND/ESC until the desired band is dis-
played, F1, F2. F3 for FM or AM.
4 To perform manual tuning, press <4 or »
with quick presses.
The frequencies move up Oo down

To perform seek tuning, press and hold <
or > for about one second and release.
The tuner wil scan the frequencies until 2
broaacast strong enough tor geod recesuer 1s

broadcasting stations. Seek tuning starts as
scor as you release the buttons.

Shows the function status.
2. PRESET NUMBER indicator
Shows what preset has been selectec.
Press FUNCTION to display the function
names.
Press FUNCTION repeatedly to switch between
the following functions:
BSM (best stations memory)-- LOCAL (local
seek turing}
* Fo return to the frequency display, oress
BAND/ESC.
* If AM is se ected. you can only select BSM or
LOCAL.

* If you do not operate the function within about
30 seconds, the display is automaticaliy
returned to tne frequency display. [=]
Storing and recalling broadcast
frequencies
If you press any of the PRESET TUNING buttors
you can easily store up te s x broaddast frequen-
cies tor yates recall with the touch of a button.

When you find a frequency that you want to
store in memory press a PRESET TUNING but-
ton and hold until the preset number stops
flashing.
Tre number you have pressed will flash ir the
PRESET NUMBER Indicator and then remain lit.
The selected radio station frequency has been
stored in memory.
Tre next time you press the same PRESET TUN-
ING 5utton the radio station frequency is
recalled from memory.
Notes
* Lote 18FM stations. 6 tor each of the three
FM sanas. anc 6 AM stations can be stored in
memory.
* You can a!so use &€ ard W to recall radio sta-
tion frequencies assigned to PRESET TUNING
