Test Mode
This series features a test program that verifies key sensor and pedal sensor point of detection of
performance information.
The test mode is useful for checking the point of detection and assessing the cause for problems
described below.
⋅ Sound produced by the tone generator is uneven, or the volume changes improperly, etc.
⋅ Pedal effects operate abnormally.
Etc.
Starting the Test Mode
Switch the power OFF. Connect a pair of headphones.
Hold down the 1A, 3B, and 4C white keys and switch the power
ON keeping the keys held down for about 2 seconds before releasing.
The test mode will not start if the keys are held for a shorter or longer amount of time.

key positions.

SW Box Self-Test
⋅ Connect a pair of headphones, then switch on the power.
⋅ Push the self-test switch located on the backside of the switch
box, to start the SW Box self-test.
1 SW Box and Sensor Unit Communications Test
⋅ When the test starts, the two units automatically commu-
nicate with each other.
C Major chord plays if communication is successful.
C minor chord plays if communication is unsuccessful.
⋅ The "Black Key" Etude plays continuously while the test is in progress.
2 AD Test
⋅ Detects reverb knob rotation and damper pedal depth, then produces a chromatic scale.
⋅ During Self-Test,
⋅ Rotating the reverb knob clockwise produces a chromatic scale from low to high (counter
clockwise rotation produces a chromatic scale from high to low).
⋅ Pressing the damper pedal produces a chromatic scale from low to high (releasing the
pedal produces the scale from high to low).
