Transporting and Setting Up the Timpani

n Setting up the Timpani
The TP3300 series features a folding design to re-
duce the space required to store or transport the
timpani. Use the procedure described below when
setting up or storing the timpani.
Caution
Except for when mov-
ing the instrument,
always make sure that
both caster brakes
are engaged.
Playing the instrument without the brakes
engaged can result in the instrument moving
about or unwanted noise. Also, tuning or ad-
justing the pedal without the brakes engaged
is very dangerous. The instrument can unex-
pectedly move or fall over resulting in injury.
Caution
Never place your fingers or foot into the mov-
ing parts or the space under the pedal or
base.
Serious injury can result if fingers or feet be-
come pinched.

Lay the instrument on the floor as shown in the
diagram below. We recommend placing a cloth
on the floor to protect both the floor and instru-
ment from damage.
* The caster brakes q on both legs should
be in the "ON" position.

Loosen the leg lock bolt w , extend the sliding leg
to the desired length e , then tighten the leg lock
bolt w . Use the marks r on the sliding leg as a
guide.

Turn the instrument over and extend the other
sliding leg using the same procedure.

Position the instrument as shown in the diagram
below. Using both hands, turn the lock bolts t
in the direction marked with the arrows until the
narrow section of the lock bolt shaft y is visible.
