NOTE : If the Spring Case and Ratchet

Assembly and the Power Spring separate

from the Sheave Assembly as a unit:

• Grip the assembly ﬁrmly and turn end-for-end

(Power Spring upward).

• Secure the Power Spring with the proper retainer

positioned 180 degrees apart. See inset in

Figure 3 .

• Separate the Power Spring from the Spring Case

and Ratchet Assembly.

14. Secure the Power Spring with two tie wraps positioned

180 degrees apart as necessary.

If the Power Spring is Broken

15. Properly secure the Power Spring with clamps and

discard.

If the Spring Arbor is Broken

16. Remove additional Snap Ring ( 25 ) from the Main

Shaft.

• Use care not to mar the surface of the Main Shaft.

17. Remove Setscrew ( 23 ) that secures Spring Arbor ( 22 )

to the Main Shaft.

NOTE : Certain models contain a plastic

Spring Arbor (21) that attaches to the Main

Shaft with a Key.

Prior to reassembly, lubricate the following with multi-

purpose lithium grease. The:

• top and bottom surfaces of Power Spring ( 41 )

• surface of Sheave Assembly ( 19 ) that contacts the

Power Spring

• Main Shaft ( 24 )

• bearing surface in the Sheave Assembly

• bearing in Spring Case and Ratchet Assembly ( 39 )

NOTE : Refer to Figures 2 and 4 for compo-

nent identiﬁcation on assembly procedures.

Spring Case and Ratchet Assembly

IMPORTANT: Position Power Spring ( 41 ) in

the proper direction. Inverse installation will

cause the reel to malfunction.

18. Install Power Spring (with tie wraps) onto the Sheave

Assembly.

• Make sure to align the eye of the Power Spring with

the hole in the Sheave Assembly.

19. Install Stud (40) [threads upward] into the eye of the

Power Spring and into the Sheave Assembly as

required.
