ASSEMBLY
The kit comes complete with 6 chisels for use
with your Air Hammer.
To attach a chisel, first remove the spring from
nose by unscrewing it. Use the inboard lug
to gain purchase.
Insert the end of the selected chisel into the
hole in the end of the nose, then replace
the spring, as shown in the illustration, using
the outboard lug to tighten.
A gauze filter is fitted to the air inlet adapter.
This filter must be clean and always in place.
Attach the air line, but DO NOT PRESS THE
TRIGGER whilst the connection is made.
NOTE: A recoil hose with a quick fit coupling
is available from your Clarke dealer.

OPERATION

Hold the tool with one hand around the
handle and one hand around the barrel, then
bring the tool towards the work at an angle
of approximately 60
pressure set to 6.2bar (90psi), pull the trigger
with the chisel in light contact with the work.
Chisel force may be adjusted by turning the
Regulator Knob, located at the base of the
handle grip. Turn anticlockwise (unscrew) to
increase force, clockwise (screw in) to reduce.
Move slowly across the work surface and
proceed to remove scale, rust or other
contaminants, a light force only should be
required.
Release the trigger to stop operation, whilst
maintaining contact with the work, noting
that the tool may impact briefly after the
trigger is released.
NOTE: The Retaining Spring has a life
expectancy, depending upon the intensity of
useage. It is strongly recommended that you
procure one or two spare springs, for use in the
event of failure occuring during the course of a
particular job.

MAINTENANCE

Daily before use.
1.
Drain water from air tank, air line and
compressor.
2.
Check and clean if necessary the air
inlet gauze filter.
3.
Pour a few drops of CLARKE Air Line Oil
(approx. 3cc), into the air inlet. This
should be carried out regardless of
whether or not an air line lubricator is
used.
If an air line lubricator is NOT used, this
procedure should be repeated daily.
Storage
If the tool is to be stored, or is idle for longer
than 24 hours, run a few drops of Clarke Air
Line Oil into the air inlet, and run the tool for
5 seconds in order to lubricate the internal
parts.
Clarke Air Line Oil is available from your
CLARKE dealer, part no. 3050825.
Be aware that factors other than the tool
may effect its operation and efficiency, such
as reduced compressor output, excessive
drain on the airline, moisture or restrictions in
the line, or the use of connectors of improper
size or poor condition which will reduce air
supply.
Grit or gum deposits in the tool may also
reduce efficiency. This condition can be
corrected by flushing out the tool with airline
oil, or failing this, the tool should be dis-
assembled, thoroughly cleaned, dried and
re-assembled.
If the tool runs erratically, and the air supply
is sound, dismantle the air motor and replace
worn or damagerd parts' or take the tool to
your Clarke dealer.
IMPORTANT:
The use of parts other than CLARKE
replacement parts may result in safety
hazards, decreased tool performance
and may invalidate your warranty.
