This tool is designed to correctly align and restore damaged wheel nut threads. The split design allows
the two halves of the thread restorer to be fitted to thegood thread (usually at the base of the stud) and then
wound back over the damaged thread. This tool must be used for the purpose indicated only.

Do not use air tools with this product.
Do not use the thread restorer if it is damaged.
Follow manufacturer's warnings, cautions and service procedures.
CHARACTERISTICS
The set includes three split dies to suit the most common wheel stud thread sizes:
M12x1.22mm, M12x1.5mm, M14x1.5mm
Adaptor hex size: 24mm
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Choose the split die that is the correct size for the wheel stud.
2. Lubricate the damaged wheel stud with HMP grease or thick machine oil.
3. The split die halves are connected by a flexible O-ring. Stretch the die and place over the stud to be repaired
on the undamaged section of thread (usually near the base of the stud).
4. Fit that adaptor over the wheel stud and split die so that the two locating pins pass through the corresponding
apertures in the split die. Push the adaptor fully home so that the split die is fully enclosed within the adaptor.
5. Using a 24mm socket and suitable driving tool (a T-bar is ideal) turn the adaptor anticlockwise to draw the split
die up the thread and restore the damaged portion. As with cutting / restoring any thread, regular back off a half
turn to clear the die. Continue the process until the die comes off the thread of the stud.
6. Clean the stud carefully, removing the grease and any metal swarf that has been produced.
7. Test the restored thread by carefully screwing on a wheel nut, referring to the manufacturer's instructions as
to whether the wheel stud should be lubricated or not.
8. Clean up the split die before returning the storage case.
