Checking the reserve volume
The ZIP Light front container is available in three sizes S, M and L. Size
S holds a reserve of between 2.0 to 2.7 litres, size M from 2.5 to 3.5 li-
tres and size L from 3.5 to 5.5 litres. The volume of your reserve will ei-
ther be on a small label on the reserve (e.g. on the Companion SQR's
certification placard) or in the reserve's manual.
It is important that your inner container is the same longish shape as
the ZIP Light front container, in other words your reserve should be
folded to the same long shape.
Info: A packed reserve's volume also depends on packing style
and skill, and can therefore vary. The following formula gives
a very rough estimate of volume – based on reserve weight
(Reserve kgs x 2.7 = volume in litres). It could still be that a re-
serve which meets a container's certified volume requirements,
according to the formula, does not achieve a problem-free
release.
