TAINY GMOD-S3
Connections and user elements
WARNING:
The TAINY GMOD-S3 can be used as a substitute for a
TAINY GMOD-T1. Note the different wiring at the
connection of the power supply (+24V; 0V):
Remove the bridge between the two inner screw terminals,
or do not connect the signal input SW as for the TAINY
GMOD-T1 at TAINY GMOD-S3, because it causes a short
circuit of the power supply.

Incorrect installation, commissioning or
operation can lead to serious damage to

Please read these instructions carefully before installing,
commissioning and using the
appliance only as described in the data sheet and the
manual.
The
TAINY GMOD-S3
meets the requirements of safety
standard EN60950-1 (protection class 2).
Qualified personnel: Installation and commissioning of
the TAINY GMOD-S3 and the accessories may only be
carried out by electricians. They must be trained and
qualified to detect and avoid hazards and to install,
commision, ground and mark appliances, systems and
circuits in accordance with the standards and recognized
rules of technology
Supply: the TAINY GMOD-S3 can only be supplied by
power supplies according to IEC/EN60950 section 2.5
"Limited power source". The external power supply for the
TAINY GMOD-S3 must be in accordance with the
regulations for NEC class 2 circuits as set out in the
National Electrical Code ® (ANSI/ NFPA 70). The output
voltage of the external power supply cannot exceed 30V
DC. The output of the external power supply must be
protected against short circuiting.
When connecting to a battery or an accumulator, please
ensure that there is likewise an all-phase separator

TAINY
GMOD-S3. Use the
(battery master switch) and a fuse with sufficient
separating ability between the device and the battery. Take
note of the technical data in the user manual as well as the
installation and use regulations of the respective
manufacturer of the power supply, battery or accumulator.
Handling of cables: never pull a cable plug from its jack
by pulling the cable, always pull at the plug. Do not allow
the cables to run across sharp corners or edges without
edge protection. If necessary, ensure a sufficient strain
relief for the cables. Please ensure that the bending radius
of the cables is upheld for safety reasons.
Location: Never use the TAINY GMOD-S3 in areas where
the operation of radio equipment is prohibited. The
appliance contains a radio transmitter, which can possibly
impair the function of medical electrical appliances such as
hearing aids or cardiac pacemakers.
When in use, the TAINY GMOD-S3 has to be covered with
a covering or housing which offers sufficient contact
protection against dangerous voltage.
Antenna installation:
appliance may be installed and operated only with a
minimum distance of 20 cm from humans.
Observe the safety instructions for antenna mounting.
Follow the instructions that came with your antenna. The
antenna must have the following characteristics: passive,
gain <1.5 dBi, VSWR <2.0: 1, impedance 50 Ω, adapted
for the used frequency bands. Use antennas from the
accessory range of the TAINY.
The antennas must be installed and operated so that they
do not interfere with other antennas or devices.
When using a directional antenna, observe the legal limit
for electromagnetic fields (0 Hz to 300 GHz) in public
areas. For details, see Council Recommendations
1999/519 / EC of 12 July 1999.
The installation of an outdoor antenna is mandatory.
According to EN 60950-1, grounding of the external
antenna is required. National installation guidelines must
be followed.
