ENGLISH
1.0 Handling
1.1 Storage
- Storage temperature –20 ... +65°C
dry; free of dirt
- The painting is only a primer,
intending to guard against rust
during stock or transportation. Don't
damage the paintwork.
- A desiccant or heating to prevent
condensation is necessary in damp
rooms.
1.2 Transport
- Transport temperature
–20° ... + 65°C.
- Protect against external force
(impact, vibration etc.).
- Don't damage the paintwork
1.3 Handling before installation
- If flange covers are fitted, remove
shortly before maintenance !
- Protect against atmospheric
conditions e.g. wetness (applicate a
desiccant).
- Correct handling protects against
damage.
2.0 Description
2.1 Scope of applications
Line regulating valves with a defined
characteristic for heating and cooling
systems. The plant designer is
responsible for selecting the correct
valve for the purpose.
Note:
Do not use MSV-F valves for handling
steam!

4.0 Throubleshooting

Fault
No flow
Little flow
Valve difficult to move or cannot be opened Wrong direction of rotation.
Valve spindle leaking
Leakage across valve seat
Valve with stroke limiter cannot be opened
Flange broken between valve and piping
Display does not show "0"/
0 when valve is closed
False data recorded

2.2 Operating principles
The valve is closed (cone/seating
function) by turning the hand wheel
clockwise. Do not use tools to increase
the torque on the hand wheel. The
valve spindle is sealed by an EDD
double flexible seal system. The stress
on the EDD double flexible seal system
is relieved by the return seal when the
valve is fully open. The position of the
plug is shown on the digital display
every complete turn and every tenth
and five-hundredths of a turn.

3.0 Installation

3.1 General notes on installation
The following points should be taken
into account besides the general
principles governing installation work:
- Remove flange covers if present.
- There must be no foreign bodies
inside the valve or piping.
- Pay attention to the direction of
flow: see markings on the valve
- Valves can be installed with the
spindle pointing in any direction,
but the preferred spindle position is
vertical.
- Reference for isolation:
If media-temperatures < ambient
temperatures - ask manufacturer.
- Installation upside down only if the
medium is clean.
- Centre packings between the fianges.
- Connection flanges must mate
exactly.
- If the valve is handling steam, the
piping must be laid with a gradient
to prevent water from accumulating
Possible cause
Valve closed.
Flange covers not removed.
Valve not sufficiently open.
Dirt screen clogged.
Piping system clogged.
EDD-special spindle seal.
Valve not properly closed.
Seat or plug damaged by foreign particles.
Pressure difference too high.
Medium contaminated (suspended solids).
Stroke limiter on spindle stop has been tightened.
Bolts tightened unevenly.
Mating flanges not properly aligned.
Display not fitted properly after pipe was lagged.
False data displayed.

in pockets. Condensation traps are
needed to prevent water-hammer.
- All parts must be free from stress
after installation.
- The valve must not serve as a fixed
point. It must be carried by the
piping.
- Protect the valve from dirt, especially
during construction work.
- Install compensators to compensate
for thermal expansion of the piping.
- It is forbidden to heat the valve to
above its service temperature (see
data sheets), for instance by welding,
grinding, etc.
- To ensure that the valves function
correctly, the pipe run should be
straight for at least 2 × n.d. upstream
and 6 x n.d. downstream of the valve.
3.2 Mounting the handwheel and display in
lagged pipe runs
Removing the handwheel
1. Close the valve by hand ("0" position).
2. Unscrew the cap.
3. Lift off the handwheel with the
attached digital display.
4. Insulation diameter:
DN 65 - 200 = 87 mm
Do not remove the insulation cap.
Fitting the hand wheel and display
1. Set the handwheel with the attached
digital display in place.
2. Position the display ("0" position) on
the side with the tapped hole.
3. Screw on the cap:
DN 15 - 200 = 15 Nm
Corrective measures
Open valve.
Remove flange covers.
Open valve.
Clean / replace screen.
Relieve pressure first!
Check piping system.
Turn in correct direction (anticlockwise to open valve).
Replace valve or bonnet.
Relieve the pressure in the system first!
Pull hand wheel tight without tools.
Replaced valve. Consult supplier/manufacturer.
Relieve the pressure in the system first!
Check system pressure and pressure drop
(max. Δp =16 bar).
Reduce system pressure.
Clean valve.
Install dirt screen upstream of valve.
Relieve the pressure in the system first!
Turn stroke limiter upwards.
Realign piping and fit new valve !
Relieve the pressure in the system first!
Close valve, unscrew cap (23), remove hand wheel
with attached digital display, set display to "0"/"0" and
reassemble in reverse order. (See point 3.2).
See point 3.2.
Observe operating = instructions for measuring
instrument used.
