Setting Delay Sound's Phase

1. Press the A-DLY-B SEL switch (LED status can be A, B, or A+B).
2. Press the OUTPUT switch for about 2 seconds.
3. Turn the PARAMETER encoder to set the delay sound's phase.
4. Press the PARAMETER encoder to accept the change.
NOTE
The phase setup for the delay sound is stored as an entire setting, not stored to each preset.
"I.On" in the display means out of phase and "I.oF" means in phase.
Setting Delay Length as Note Duration (Subdivision)
1. Press the A-DLY-B SEL switch to select the delay (A, B, or A+B) whose delay note length you want to set.
2. Press the FUNC switch until the S.DIV LED flashes.
3. Turn the PARAMETER encoder to adjust the parameter.
4. Press the PARAMETER encoder to accept the change.
NOTE
By handling a quarter note as the reference for tempo, the delay time can be set as the duration of a note. The default value is Quarter
note [Crochet]. You can select from: Whole note [Semibreve] (01), Half note [Minim] (02), Dotted Quarter note (04.), Triplet in four (43),
Quarter note [Crochet] (04), Dotted Eighth note (08.), Triplet in two (23), Eighth note [Quaver] (08), Triplet in one (13), and Sixteenth note
[Demiquaver] (16).
If the Dotted Quarter or Dotted Eighth note is selected, then the dot LED in the first digit illuminates (dotted).
N.B. When the time display unit is "mS," the delay time is automatically calculated and the displayed accordingly. The display will not
change when the time display unit is "BPM."
Kill Dry Function
1. Press the A-DLY-B SEL switch to select the delay (A, B, or A+B) whose delay dry sound you want to turn on/off.
2. Press the OUTPUT switch until the DRY LED flashes.
3. Turn the PARAMETER encoder to turn on/off the Kill Dry function.
4. Press the PARAMETER encoder to accept the change.
NOTE
When "d.On" (Dry On) is displayed, the input signal is output (default). If "d.oF" (Dry Off) is shown, the input signal is not output (Kill Dry).
Trail Function
You can select whether to retain the delay sound (On) or not (Off) when you turn off the delay effect.
1. Press the A-DLY-B SEL switch (LED status can be A, B, or A+B).
2. Press the FUNC switch until the TRAIL LED flashes.
3. Turn the PARAMETER encoder to turn on/off the Trail function.
4. Press the PARAMETER encoder to confirm.
NOTE
This parameter setting is common to the delay units A and B. When "On" is displayed, the delay sound is retained (default). When "oFF" is
shown, the delay sound is not retained. When you switch presets, the delay sound is not retained even if the Trail function is activated.

Soft Clipping Function
The FF-1Y has a soft clipping (overdrive) circuit and can distort the delay sound. You can use this function to create a
vintage device like sound by mixing the delayed version with its original sound.
1. Press the SOFT CLIPPING ON switch (A-DLY-B SEL LED status can be A, B, or A+B).
2. Turn the LEVEL knob and GAIN knob to adjust the depth and volume of the distortion.
NOTE
In Stereo Connection mode, the Soft Clipping function can be applied to the delay unit A only. No delay sound is output when the LEVEL
knob is set to the 0 (minimum) position.
Panning Function (in Stereo Connection Mode)
If the delay units A and B are set to Stereo Connection mode, you can use the Panning function that changes the
localization of the delay sound fed to the left and right speakers.
1. Press the A-DLY-B SEL switch (LED status can be A, B, or A+B).
2. Press the PAN switch to flash the DEPTH or SPEED LED.
3. Turn the PARAMETER encoder to adjust the parameter.
4. Press the PARAMETER encoder to accept the change.
NOTE
DEPTH: The changing amount of the sound is adjusted.
SPEED: The speed of the Panning effect is adjusted.
Tremolo Function (In Series Connection Mode)
Tremolo function is available (on delay B) if the delay units A and B are set to Series Connection mode.
NOTE
DEPTH: The depth of the Tremolo effect is adjusted.
SPEED: The speed of the Tremolo effect is adjusted.
The Tremolo effect is applied to the delay sound only.
NOTE
The Panning/Tremolo speed can be synchronized to the Delay tempo. Press the PAN switch for about 2 seconds. The display contents
change. Turn the PARAMETER encoder to select the parameter "S.On" (SYNC = ON) or "S.oF" (SYNC = OFF).
With SYNC = ON, this speed synchronization actually occurs only when "the tempo is changed by detecting taps or MIDI clock (but
within the range of BPM 24–300)." When you recall a preset, the speed defined in the preset is recalled.
Preset-Preferred or Tap-Preferred mode will not have any affect.
