AEV Matrix 212 MPX
Introduction
Matrix 212 MPX is an MPX audio signal distributor & changer and is equipped with:
• Two MPX inputs (A and B)
• Twelve MPX outputs, each of which replicates one of the two inputs
The fields of application of the Matrix 212 MPX can be: both in the control room and in installations to
distribute the MPX signals to the transmitters / links, in addition to all situations in which the
possibility of switching is required, in the face of an external command , between two MPX signals (A
or B) on the available outputs.
Matrix 212 MPX can also be used in the management of switching for advertising splitting for the
different coverage areas of the broadcaster.
Each output can be assigned only one input, between A and B.
Each output, of the 12 available, can switch between the main signal A and B. The switching
command is supplied to the device by means of logic commands on the Remote port (DB 15
connector) located on the right side of the connector side panel.
Distributor function.
In the absence of a switching command, Matrix 212 MPX replicates the input signal A on all the
outputs, in which case it performs the function of input signal distributor A.
Matrix function.
When each contact of the Remote door closes, on the corresponding output, there will be a switching
between signal A and signal B, activating the matrix function.
To activate the individual switching contacts, simply connect the corresponding pins of the DB15
connector, from n ° 1 to n ° 12, to pins 13, 14 and 15.
Backup function.
Matrix 212 MPX is equipped with a backup circuit which, via a relay, allows you to program the
assignment, on the outputs, of the two input signals even in the absence of power.
Backup programming is done via the switch panel located on the power supply side.
The panel is equipped with 12 two-position selectors, in the upper position the program selector, on
the corresponding output, the input signal A, in the lower position the program selector on the
corresponding output, the input signal B.
This function ensures that, even in the presence of power interruptions to the device, the user can
maintain the set configuration at the exit; this setting is independent of the active command provided
through the Remote port.
The extremely small size of the device (1U 19 "rack) and the ability to mount the support flaps
indifferently on the two panels, front or back, make installation easier and better adaptable to
different operational needs
