Wipe

these surfaces carefully with

a clean

cloth. If dirt

caked

or

hard

or lighter fluid.

CLEAN

The majority

of

defects,

other

than wear

or

breakage, can

be

traced to

dirty surfaces.

The

play-

recordtread (5?), capstan,

andpressureroller

an

accumulation

of

tape coating

oxide,

which

is

worn

off

the

tape as

it

passes these

parts.
