MAINTENANCE

Keeping your bicycle clean will extend it's life and ensure all parts

Lubrication – This bicycle requires regular lubrication. Frequency

of lubrication will depend on the amount of use. As a guide,
external moving parts should be oiled monthly and internal
moving parts greased annually.
Grease type lubrication: Bearings in head stem, wheels,

bottom bracket and pedals (requires disassembly, refer to
your bicycle retailer)
Oil type lubrication: Brake and derailleur pivot points and

jockey wheels, chain and free wheel.
Brakes are adjusted by using an allen key to alter the point where

the brake cable is fixed to the brake. Ensure brakes are firm and
operating correctly before riding.
Brakes are quickly unclipped by squeezing the brake together by

hand and removing the U shaped piping from the bracket.
The seat can be adjust by loosening the quick release bolt

adjusting the seat and then re tightening.
Brake pads can be replaced when worn by using an allen key,

ensure brake pad makes good contact with the flat braking edge
of the rim.
Apply the following torque for the nominated parts of this bicycle

and check regularly using a torque wrench:
Front Wheel Nuts – 22-27 Newton Metres (Nm)
Rear Wheel Nuts – 24-29 Nm
Seat Binder Nut – 12-17 Nm
Seat Pillar Clamp Nut – 4-19 Nm
Brake Anchor Nut – 7-11 Nm
Handle Bar Clamp Nut – 5-19 Nm
Head Stem Expander Bolt – 17-19 Nm
Crank Cotter Pin Nuts – 5-10 Nm
Brake Centre Bolt – 5-7 Nm
Pedals – 35-40 Nm
