Quick Start
1. Download and install the
2. Configure the network adapter on a PC to have an address of 192.168.1.1 (or similar).
3. Using a Cat5/6 RJ45 cable, connect the RJ45/Ethernet port of the Harrier 23x/52x IP Camera
Evaluation Board to the network adapter of the PC.
4. Connect the 12V power supply to the barrel connector of the evaluation board.
5. When you are ready, the power supply can be plugged in and switched on; the camera will start up.
After a while the camera will have initialized and a blinking LED on the PC Ethernet port and on the
Harrier 23x/52x IP Camera Evaluation Board will indicate network activity.
6. On the PC, open the Microsoft Edge browser and browse to 192.168.1.108.
7. The camera web page will open, and you will see a login prompt.
8. Before logging in, click on the Plug-in download and install the plug-in. This will enable the video
preview to work on the web page. You may need to close the browser to install the plug-in.
9. Login using user:admin, password:123456
10. You may need to open the 192.168.1.108 site in Microsoft edge - Internet Explorer mode for the
video/pages to work properly.
11. You should see a video preview from the camera.
12. Go to the settings tab and select System Settings->Encode settings.
13. Set all streams to H.264 and save the settings. Note: The ONVIF Device Manager cannot display
H.265 encoded streams.
14. On the PC, open the ONVIF Device Manager and use it to locate the camera. Click the Refresh
button and the camera will appear on the Device List with the IP address 192.168.1.108.
15. Open the connection to the camera by clicking on the box in the left-hand pane that shows the
camera and its IP address. The panes on the right will populate and show a video preview image
and camera stream settings.
16. By clicking on the Live video menu option, you can view the streaming video from the camera (see
Figure 6).
If you select the Profiles option on the menu you will also be able to select different video streams
served by the camera (as set up in the web page encoder settings).
17. If the PTZ control menu option is selected, the camera can be zoomed using the Zoom +/- buttons
on the screen.
18. The video stream can also be opened using a media player application (e.g. VLC media player or
GStreamer). Use rtsp://192.168.1.108:554/type=0&id=1 to connect to the camera.
E.g. for VLC media player (supports H.265): Select the Media menu, select Open Network Stream.
In the Open Media dialog, enter rtsp://192.168.1.108:554/type=0&id=1.
Click the Play button.
