Always disconnect the device from the mains after finishing work.
Allow the device to cool down to room temperature before you put it away.
Switching On and Off
1. The soldering iron is switched ON, with the Heat Select (9), as soon as the plug is
connected to the mains. (30W
2. Disconnect the soldering iron's plug from the mains to switch it OFF COMPLETELY.
Using the Soldering Iron
1. Ensure that the rated voltage on the machine label agrees with the local mains
voltage.
2. Check that the insert (a solder tip (2)) is securely fitted before you heat up the
device. Screw new tips as far as they will go into the tip holder.
3. Connect the soldering iron (1) to the mains.
4. Never heat up the soldering iron without a tip fitted.
5. The tip may only be removed from the soldering iron when it is switched off.
6. Allow the soldering iron to cool down after you finish work. Do not cool by rinsing
under water.
7. Place the soldering iron on the stand (7) during breaks in your work.
8. The tip's angled surface is particularly suitable for shadow marking.
9. As the tips are made of brass, a relatively soft material, it's recommend that you
wait until these have cooled down completely before removing or replacing them.
