IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTION
When using your KA1000, you should always follow these basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock, and injury to person, including the following:
1.
Read and understand all instructions before installing the KA1000.
2.
Unplug the unit from the adaptor and the telephone cord before installing a back-up battery. Do not dispose the
batteries in a fire; follow your local code for properly disposing batteries.
3.
Do not open the cabinet of the unit except for the battery cover. You may be exposed to a dangerous voltage and
cause electric shock. Opening this product automatically voids any and all manufacturer's warranties. If you
think that the unit is damaged or is in need of repair, please contact Krown Manufacturing, Inc.
4.
Avoid using this unit during thunderstorms; there maybe a chance of electric shock from lightning.
5.
Unplug the unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Using only a damp cloth to clean the outside of the unit. If
the unit comes in contact with any liquid source, unplug the power and the telephone cords from the back panel
before touching the unit. If the unit is damaged, contact Krown Manufacturing, Inc.
6.
Do not use this product near a bathtub, washbasin, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in wet basement, near a swim-
ming pool or anywhere else there is water.
7.
KA1000 is designed to work with only the power source indicated on the back of the unit. If you are not sure
about your house power source, please consult with your electric company and contact your Krown local dealer
to obtain or exchange a correct voltage unit to use.
8.
Turning the volume to maximum may subject you to a dangerous sound levels.
9.
Do not place anything on the power cord. Install the KA1000 where no one will step or strip on the cord.
10. Do not overload wall outlet or extension cord as this can increase the risk of fire and electrical shock.
11. Never push any object through the slots in the KA1000. They can touch the dangerous voltage points or short
out parts that could result in risk of fire or electrical shock. Never spill any liquid of any kind on the clock.
12. Place the clock on a stable surface. Serious damage and/or injury may result if the KA1000 falls.
13. Do not cover the slots and openings on this clock. You should never place the KA1000 near or over a radiator
or heat register. This clock should not be placed in a built-in installation unless proper ventilation is provided.
14. Unplug the KA1000 from the wall outlet and contact Krown Manufacturer, Inc. if any of the following conditions occur:
a.
When the power cord is damaged or frayed.
b.
If liquid has been spilled into the telephone.
c.
If the telephone exposed to the rain or water.
d.
If the unit does not operate normally when following the user manual, adjust only controls that are
covered by the operating manual. Improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage.
e.
If the product has been dropped or appears damaged.
f.
If the unit exhibits a distinct change in performance.
15. The socket - outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
16. KA1000 was designed for in-house use only. The best location to get the alarm clock is in your bedroom.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This
device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including
interference that may cause undesired operation.
Warning: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could
void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to
Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in
a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed
and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does
cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and
on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
Additional safety notes for Canadian users
The following items are included as part of the CS-03 Requirements. The standard connecting arrangement for the
equipment is CA11A. This product meets the applicable Industry Canada technical specifications.
