the Spool SSv is a device for diverting the
process flow from one pressure relief valve to
another during static conditions. Do not attempt
to change over during a pressure relief event.
refer to figures 1 and 2 and follow these steps:
1. Make sure both bleed ports are closed.
2. to change outlet flowing port from outlet
port #1 to outlet port #2, rotate handle
clockwise (Inward) to stop.
3 to change outlet flowing port from outlet
port #2 to outlet port #1, rotate handle
counter clockwise (outward) to stop.
4. open bleed port on neck opposite flowing
side to vent isolated side.
Indicator numbers are provided for indication of
flowing side; numbers are located on the cast
boss of each neck.

saFety preCautions
• Never attempt to operate the SSv Spool
during a pressure-relieving event.
• the outlet should be piped or vented to a safe
location.
• always wear proper safety gear to protect
head, eyes, ears, etc. anytime you are near
pressurized valves.
• Never attempt to remove the SSv Spool from
a system that is pressurized.
• Maintenance should be performed on a regular
basis. the interval between inspection and
maintenance will depend on service conditions
and frequency of operation. Inspections are
recommended on an annual basis.

maintenance, cleaning lapping and detail
illustrations, obtain the following operation
and Maintenance Manual 05.9040.142. the
manual may be requested from the factory or
