3.0 Product Description
The ALBA FIBER SYSTEMS Series AFS5001 support the simultaneous transmission of 8-bit digital
video with two (2) half-duplex RS-485 or one (1) full-duplex RS-422 and one RS-232 data and
one 10/100 Mbps fast Ethernet signal on a single fiber. Multimode or singlemode versions are
compatible with NTSC, PAL and SECAM formats and support selectable RS-232, RS-422 and 2 or
4-wire RS-485 data interfaces with speeds up to 1 Mbps. Plug-and-play design ensures ease of
installation and no user electrical or optical adjustments are required. Features include low
power consumption, LED indicators for monitoring equipment link and performance operating
status and auto resettable voltage transient fuses. Standalone units are configured to be
interchangeable with rackmount cards. With 12VDC/24VAC input voltage on standalone, industry
highest density 9 card slots and one (1) power supply or 8 card slots and two (2) power supplies
per 19"L x 4U Rackmount Chassis, the Series AFS5001 are outstanding products for
transmission of Video, Data and Ethernet signals.
