Draft Beer Troubleshooting

Problem
Flat Beer
Foamy head disappears
quickly. Beer lacks usual
zestful, fresh flavor.
False Head
Large soap-like bubbles,
head dissolves very
quickly.
Wild Beer
Beer is all foam and not
enough liquid beer when
drawn.

Possible Cause
CO2 turned off when not in use.
Contaminated air source (usually com-
pressed air).
Greasy glasses.
Not enough pressure.
Pressure shut off during night.
Loose tap or vent connection.
Sluggish pressure regulator.
Obstruction in lines.
Dry glasses.
Improper pour.
Pressure required does not match beer
temperature.
Coils in beer lines warmer than beer in
keg.
Beer tapped improperly.
Faucet worn down.
Kinks, dents, twists, or obstructions in
line.
Beer too warm in kegs or lines.
Too much pressure.
Possible Solution
Keep lines properly changed at all times.
Drain air source & refill with clean air.
Clean with a grease-cutting cleaner.
Check for leaks, replace air source if necessary.
Keep lines properly charged at all times.
Check lines, do regular maintenance to prevent.
Check connections, replace is necessary.
Check lines, clean via instructions on page 12.
Flush glasses with clean water and drain.

Hold clean glass at 45 degrees.
2. Pour beer at the midpoint slope of the glass.
3. Once glass fills to hald, tilt upright to 90 degrees.
4. Fill until there is 1" to 11/2" head.
Research or consult your supplier for proper temps/
pressures for each draft product.
Check that the air hose clip is still in place. Check
insulation for damage - repair as necessary.
Avoid agitation in keg prior to tapping. Tap quickly and
at correct temperature.
Contact a properly trained maintenance worker to
repair or replace.
Check that all lines are clear and properly secured.
Clean lines via instructions on page 12.
Check that the unit is set to proper temperature.
Check that the air hose clip is still in place. Check for
damage in
insulation. Check that all lines are clear and properly
secured.
Make sure unit is operating at ideal temperature to
match your product. Check to see if pressure gauge is
malfunctioning. Check air source.
