1. Construct the Framing
NOTE: Refer to the shower door installation for any special framing considerations.
- Make sure the floor offers adequate support and is flat and level.
- Study the roughing-in and framing diagrams.
- Construct the framing as shown above. If the unit is to be installed over drywall, increase the framing dimensions
to accommodate the drywall thickness. When installed over drywall or plaster, the wall flanges will need to be
covered with a finish molding which is not provided with the product.
- Ensure that support is provided for the vertical end wall flanges at 35-1/4" (89.5cm).
- Add any bridging or support needed for extra grab bars or towel bars. Refer to the accessory manufacturer's
instructions.
- If the unit is installed against a masonry wall, use furring strips to secure the unit.
2. Install Plumbing
- Locate the drain according to the dimensions shown above. Measure and cut the drain hole opening in the floor
and install the rough drain lines.
- Install the rough plumbing. The shower elbow should be above the top of the end wall. The valves should be at a
height between 25" (63.5cm) and 35" (88.9cm) above the floor. The rough plumbing should be in place before the
unit is installed.
IMPORTANT! The centerline of the supply fitting will not be the centerline of the end wall. Refer to the
roughing-in diagram.
