16. TPi control mode - Time Proportional Integral
TPi control is a mode that ensures the thermostat reacts to settings
inputted by the user to allow it to accurately control the heat and save
energy. When the temperature is rising in the zone and falls into the
Proportional Bandwidth section, TPi will start to a ect the thermostats
operation. The thermostat will turn on and o as it gains heat so that it
doesn't overshoot the setpoint by too much. It will also turn on if the
temperature is falling so it doesn't undershoot the setpoint which will
leave the user with a more comfortable level of heat.
There are 3 settings that will a ect the thermostats operation:
1. The Minimum Heating Time
2. The Number of Heating Cycles Per Hour
3. The Proportional Bandwidth
These settings can be adjusted by pressing the set button.
Minimum Heating Time:
The minimum heating time can be set from 1 to 5 mins. This forces the
thermostat to continue to heat into the proportional bandwidth for a
minimum value of time.
Number of Heating Cycles per Hour:
This value will decide how often the thermostat will cycle the heating on
and o when trying to achieve the setpoint temperature. You can select
3/6/9 or 12.
Proportional Bandwidth:
This value refers to the temperature below the setpoint at which the
thermostat will start to operate in TPi Control. You can set this
temperature from 1.5˚C to 3.0˚C in 0.1˚C increments.
To adjust TPi settings:
Ensure Jumper JP3 is in TPi mode.
Reset the thermostat.
Press the "Set" button once to adjust Minimum Heating Time
"On 1 Set" appears on screen.
Press

buttons to adjust from 1 to 5 minutes respectively.
Press the "Set" button once.
The number of heating cycles per hour can now be selected.
"C6 Set" appears on screen.
Press
or
buttons to adjust from 3/6/9/12 cycles
Press the "Set" button once.
The proportional bandwidth can now be selected.
"b 1.5˚C Set" appears on screen.
Press
or
buttons to adjust from 1.5˚C to 3˚C bandwidth.
Press the "Set" button to return to home screen.
