Using the Dummy Filter

}The dummy filter sliders can be used in fluorescence observation by attaching a filter.
Dummy excitation filter slider
1. Remove the ring spring then the light shield.
2. Insert the required excitation filter (25 mm dia., 6 mm or
less thickness), and lock it with the ring spring.
4

Adjusting the Lighting Head (When the SZX-ZB9 Is Used)

}The angle of the lighting head should be adjusted when the DFPLAPO1X-2 objective is used.
Fig. 20
1. Place a specimen with an explicitly indicated center (for example a piece of
paper with a cross marking on the center), focus on the specimen at
higher magnification and bring the center (cross) to the center of the field
of view.
2. Rotate the filter turret to engage a filter, other than a GFP or U-excitation
filter, in the light path.
3. Loosen the rotation adjustment screw @ on the lighting head using the
Allen screwdriver, adjust the angle of the lighting head so that the cross
@
marking aligns with the center of illumination field, then tighten the screw.
4. Change the magnification from 10X to maximum as indicated on the
zooming knob to make sure that no vignetting occurs.
Dummy barrier filter slider
1. Insert the required barrier filter (20 mm dia., 6 mm or less
thickness).
2. As this slider does not use the ring spring for locking, it
can be used in the horizontal positioning.
To prevent the filter from dropping, it is recommended to
fix the filter on the slider by using a piece of adhesive
tape or a bonding agent.
