Ethernet
When installing and connecting the Ethernet connection, observe the applicable general
conditions and their legal basis.
The Ethernet connection is connected to the Ethernet socket of the gateway. The cable must
be connected to the RJ45 plug before connection to the socket.
For the power supply of the gateway over PoE, a corresponding infrastructure such as PoE
adapter or PoE switch is required.
The gateway is preset to DHCP as standard. No Locating Manager server is pre-configured on
the gateway (server address 0.0.0.0). You can configure the server address either with the "IP
Configuration" software contained in the Locating Manager or, alternatively, using SINEC PNI.

Operation
The gateway is not designed for operation in hazardous areas.
Operation of the system according to EN 62368-1 is only safe when the enclosure cover is
installed (cooling, fire protection, interference suppression).
In case of emergencies (e.g. when the enclosure is damaged, when liquids or foreign objects
are entering the device), the gateway must be disconnected from the power supply and
maintenance must be contacted immediately.
3.6
Cleaning and maintenance
The gateway may only be opened by suitably trained and qualified users. Only authorized
dealers are permitted to repair the device.
Unauthorized opening of and improper repairs to the gateway may cause substantial risks to
the user. As soon as the gateway has been opened without permission, warranty and liability
of the Siemens AG are rendered null and void.
Do not clean the enclosure with abrasive, alkaline or aggressive cleaning products or aids.
