Take the following steps to conﬁgure the fractional T1/T1 DSU/CSU WAN module for a

typical leased-line connection, substituting the correct addresses and host names as

appropriate for your network:

Enter enable mode:

Router> enable

Assign an IP address to the serial port on the module:

Router(config-if)# ip address ipaddress subnetmask

Enter the framing type and line code type, substituting framing_type with sf

(Superframe) or esf (Extended Superframe) and linecode_type with ami (alternate

mark inversion) or b8zs (bipolar eight zero substitution):

Router(config-if)# service-module t1 linecode linecode_type
