For automatic focusing

the AUTO position.

The
autofocus system
incorporated
in
Betamovie
utilizes high-precision sensors
to
determine contrast and adjust
focus
accor-
dingly
for automatic, highly accurate focus-
ing.
When the subject is in
focus,
the green lamp
in the viewfinder
lights. This allows you
to
concentrate on following the
subject,
without
worrying
about maintaining
focus.
For
optimum results using
autofocus,
it is
im-
portant
to
choose scenes with good contrast
and to set the subject in easily-focu sed
scenes. Almost all well-lighted
sit
uations,
in-
doors or out, will
produce
best results with
this autofocus system.

Autofocus may not operate properly under the
conditions
outlined
below.
For best
results
in
these conditions, set the FOCUS switch to the
MANUAL posit ion and focus manually with
the focus
ring.
