Operating
Falling Lifter.
Load loss.
Completely insert and securely fasten all pins, securely tighten all bolts before loading,
hoisting, or transporting the lifter, loaded or unloaded.
Falling load or lifter causes serious injury or death.
Lifting Cycle
1. Perform a preliminary test lift by hoisting the lifter several
inches off the floor, examining the lifter's performance. If the lifter's
performance is inadequate, remove the lifter from service. Then,
tag the lifter with an "Out of Service" tag. Inspect the lifter for any
damages or malfunctions. A qualified person shall correct any lifter
failures before returning to full service.
2. Verify the load is symmetrically attached to the lifter.
3. Verify the lifter's travel path is clear of people and any obstruction.
4. When the lifter's performance is optimal,

5. Use only a vertical lift, hoist line is ninety degrees to horizontal.
6. Start raising the load slowly and gently.
7. Raise, lower, or transport the load ONLY over specified areas.
Proper Lifting
8. Avoid swinging the load—transport the load slowly.
9. Do NOT drag the load or lifter along the ground.
10. Do NOT allow the lifter to make any contact with any objects,
during loading, raising, transporting, or lowering .
11. Bumping the lifter, loaded or unloaded,
causes excessive swinging.
12. Do Not use shock loading or side loading.
13. Prohibit people from standing under a suspended lifter,
loaded or unloaded.
14. Prohibit operators from leaving a suspended lifter,
load or unloaded, unattended.
15. Set the load down gently.
