Thank you for purchase of ND40N standard battery grip for use with Nikon D40/D40)VD60 Single-lens reflex digital camera The ND40N grip

takes one or two EN-EL9 batteries or six M batteries,especially sultable for shooting in a large quantity or low temperatufes environment

It also includes a vertical-grip shuttetrrelease button to enable shooting in the same fashion as a horizontal grip

Use the EN-ELg Battery Packs

1. Press down the battery magazine lock knob and open the battery compartment @ver,and then pull out the EN-ELg battery magazine or

the AA battery magazine(Diagram A and Diagram B)

2. InstalltwoEN-EL9batterypacksasshownbytheindicatorsonEN-EL9batterymagazine(BesurethatthecontactorofEN-EL9battery

is upturned),and then insert them to the battery magazine along the contactof position Be sure that the contactor of EN-ELg battery is at

the gap of the magazine Insert the EN-ELg battery magazine into the battery grip and close the battery compartment cover and be sure

that the cover is locked well before using (Diagram C and Diagram D)Lithium baftery packs are installed

Note:The battery grip can also use only one EN-ELg battery

lf only one EN-EL9 battery is used it may be inserted in either the right or lett sides

Use AA Batteries

1. Insert six Nl-MH(AA)batteries into AA battery magazine with the direction shown[+][-]on the inside Battery magazine (Diagram E)

2, Install the AA battery magazine into the battery chambecthen ciose the battery chamber cover and be sure battery cover is on the locked

position(Diagram F)

WhenAAbatteriesareused,fewerimagescanbeshotTherefofe,usageofAAsizebatteriesisrecommendedonlyforemergencies

Installing Battery Grip

s battery chamber cover can be stored in battery grip' s camera battery chamber cover storage area as illustrated (Diagram H)

3 , I n s e r t t h e b a t t e r y g r i p e l e c t r i c a l c o n t a c t s t o c a m e r a ' s b a t t e r y c h a m b e r a n d a l i g n t h e a t t a c h m e n t s c r e w w i t h t h e c a m e r a ' s t r i p o d s o c k e t ,

then turn the attach/detach knob to tighten securely (Diagram l)if there is a space left ,please fe-attach the battery grip

4 . T h e w h o l e i n s t a l l p r o c e s s f i n i s h e d , T u r n o n t h e c a m e r a , a n d m a k e s u r e t h a t t h e c a m e r a ' s L C D d i s p i a y s t h e f i g u r e s

5, To dispatch the battery grjp,reverse the above steps

A Set and use the Vertical-grip shutter

'1. Turn the Vertical-grip switch to

"ON" Press: " E" button two times to enter Menu Set the camera to Shooting mode by pressing multi-

selector and the press "OK" button (Diagram J)Set multi-selector button to " ! " ,and press the Vertical-grip switch (Diagram K)

The Vertical-grip system pops up automatically The Vertical-grip is available for work

2. The Vertical-grip also works in " ! 25" stat6 eress " E' button tlvo times to enter Menu Set the camera to Shooting mode by pressing

pops up automatically Then press the Vertical-grip shutter button,2seconds time-lapse and then the shutter will start This is especially

suitable for shooting scene and still life with tripod

This Vertical-grip is a procedure After pressing and disentangling the Vertical-grip shutter button,camera focusing and shoot automatically.

When shooting in horizontal position,camera should not in " E " or " E25" state
