XM Tuner module
Introduction
Thousands of GM Cars, Trucks and SUVs are fitted with an XM Tuner module but
lack an input jack for Smartphone, iPod, MP3 player etc. but here is good news.
See, GM installed an XM tuner module in many vehicles and even though the free
introductory offer may have already expired, the XM tuner remains installed and
this is great news for anyone looking to add an AUX input. The AUX-GM3x cable
uses the XM port to provide a 3.5mm audio input for all kinds of audio devices
including Smartphones, MP3 Players, iPods etc. while also retaining XM playback
(if subscribed). Be mindful that your vehicle MUST have an XM Tuner module
(with or without subscription). XM Tuner module is a small electronic box (See
Fig. 2) installed in a remote area of vehicle.
Warning: XM tuner module is not part of, or built-into the AM/FM
radio. See table at the end of this guide for XM tuner location.
See Frequently Asked question at the end of this guide for more details.
