communications. The cable that is included with the Chat 150 VC also

Q: Does the Chat 150 work with any telephone?
A:
No. First of all, the Chat 150 was designed to connect to the RJ-9 headset jack on telephone handsets, which is
most commonly found on higher-end enterprise models. As ClearOne has tested the Chat 150 with a wide variety of
telephone models, it quickly became apparent that there is no consistency in the pinouts and audio characteristics of
the RJ-9 connector. Therefore, it became necessary to customize the connections by phone manufacturer in order to
deliver optimal audio performance.
Q: How does the Chat 150 connect to a telephone?
A:
The system comes with a breakout box, which has four connectors:
AC power
RJ-9 jack to connect to headset jack of phone
RJ-9 jack to optionally connect to headset
Link cable to Chat 150
The breakout box also has a button on top next to an LED indicator. Pressing the button allows the user to toggle
between using the Chat 150 as a speaker phone and using a headset.
Q: What computer platforms are compatible with the Chat 150?
A:
The Chat 150 is fully tested for compatibility with Windows XP. The Chat software, which allows the user to
customize audio settings, does not work on Windows 2000. ClearOne is currently doing testing with Windows Vista.
Q: Does the Chat software work with both the Chat 50 and Chat 150?
A:
Yes. The latest revision of the software, which is releasing with the Chat 150, will automatically recognize which
device is plugged in, and allow the user to change audio settings.
Q: How much does it cost, and what is included?
A:
