Marina

Marina is a handsome pleasure craft, designed to be powered by outboard motors, which have increased in popularity in recent years.

The sporty and elegant looks of the model are emphasized by the use of mahogany and photo etched parts. Several coats of clear varnish will help to

produce a perfect finish which highlights the warm colour of the wood. An outboard motor that suits the model both in looks and power is available from

aero-naut.

Construction should be according to the step-by-step instructions provided in this manual. Remove only those parts from the laser cut sheets which

are required for the current building step.

Use a sharp modelling knife to cut individual parts from laser sheets. Use sandpaper to clean any residue of the laser cutting process from the

individual parts to get good contact surfaces for gluing.

Always check that parts fit perfectly. Correct, if necessary, before you glue. Give glue sufficient time to dry before you begin with the next step.

We recommend white glue and epoxy resin (if not otherwise noted) for gluing, which offer good strength. Both types of glue retain a certain

degree of elasticity even after the glue has cured und will stand up to any loads which occur during handling and operating the boat.

Be careful when handling untreated wood, especially mahogany. To avoid specks of glue, which might damage the surface of the wood, treat all

parts with wood filler (aero-naut Order-No. 7666/02) and sand with 320 grade paper before you glue. Also, before you operate the boat on your

local lake or river, make sure you waterproof the model with several coats of a good clear varnish (inside and outside). Use epoxy resin for all parts

that you glue to a varnished surface.
