Downloading JPEG Images Using the PTP Function

When using Windows XP, you can use the PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) function. When you
set the camera's [Communication] and use the PTP function, you can download to your
computer JPEG images saved in your camera's memory card without having to use EOS Utility.
This function is compatible with the EOS 5D, EOS 30D, EOS 20D, EOS 10D, EOS
DIGITAL REBEL XTi/400D DIGITAL, EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT/350D DIGITAL and EOS
DIGITAL REBEL/300D DIGITAL.
Check that the camera and the computer are not connected and

then set the camera's power switch to <ON>.
With the EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi/400D DIGITAL, steps 1 to 3 are not necessary.
Continue with step 4.
Set the camera's [Communication].

Set the [Communication] for cameras in the same procedure as the "Setting a
Camera with [Communication] Settings" (p.1-2), using the following for a reference.

Downloading with EOS-1D Series Cameras
Downloading method for the EOS-1D Mark II N, EOS-1Ds Mark II and EOS-1D Mark II

Plug the dedicated cable into the computer.

> mark towards the
bottom of the camera and then connect
the plug to the camera's direct print
terminal.
Set the camera's power switch to <ON>.
