USM is the perfect wildlife telephoto. EF and EF-S lenses keep Image

Stabilization (IS) where it belongs – in the lens. Tailored to the specific

lens on which it is deployed, Canon's IS reduces image blur when

shooting without a tripod. A particularly useful feature for wildlife

photography is Mode , which turns off IS automatically in the

horizontal or vertical direction when deliberate panning is detected.
