TROUBLE SHOOTING

Troubles

Rivet mandrel does not break

Jaws slipping on rivet

mandrel

Rivet mandrel cannot be put

into nosepiece

Mandrel cannot be sucked

into mandrel collector

properly

Possible Causes

1. 3-jaw set worn or damaged.

2. Insufficient hydraulic oil in

tool.

3. Air supply with low pressure.

1. 3-jaw set worn.

2. Metal chips between jaws.

3. Pusher spring fatigued.

1. Wrong size nosepiece used.

2. Jaws stuck due to mandrel

not releasing.

1. Insufficient vacuum power for

mandrel release.

2. Air supply with low pressure.

Solutions

1. Change 3-jaw set.

2. Refill hydraulic oil.

3. Increase air supply pressure

within the specified range.

1. Change 3-jaw set.

2. Clean the jaws.

3. Change pusher spring.

1. Change to correct size

nosepiece.

2. Disassemble the front sleeve

and clamping sleeve to

remove stuck mandrel.

1. Increase the vacuum power

to the mandrel release, refer

to TOOL OPERATION

section 4.

2. Increase air supply pressure

within the specified range.
