Carcomm iPod® Car Cradle

CMIC-01 iPod 3G / 4G / Photo / Color / Mini

Screw the cradle onto the swivel base and onto the window mount. You can also screw

the cradle directly onto the dashboard using the swivel base. If you want to install the

cradle onto the dashboard without damaging the dashboard, a Safety-Mount® is available

separately. Check www.carcomm.nl for more information.

If you choose to use the cigarette lighter plug for power, the installation is fairly simple.

- Connect the 8 pin mini-DIN Audio/Video-out cable to the cradle cable.

- Connect the Video-out to your in-car DVD system( Cinch ).

( Only works if your iPod supports Video out ).

- Connect the Audio-out to your car-stereo / in-car DVD system ( Cinch ).

- Plug in the cigarette lighter plug.

If you choose to hard-wire the cradle into the car you can use the supplied power cable

with in-line fuse. If you use this option you have to cut off the cigarette lighter plug and

instead connect the supplied power cable with fuse.

- Connect the RED cable to the 12V or 24V power of the vehicle.

- Connect the BLACK cable to the vehicle ground.

Connect the power cable to the power of the car that is controlled by the ignition key so

that the iPod® cannot accidentally drain the car battery.

The cradle is designed to minimize scratches and other surface damage on the iPod®.

For extra protection a protection skin is included with the Carcomm iPod® cradle.

The use of the skin is optional, if you want to use it please follow the steps below :

1. Make sure the iPod® surface and your hands are clean.

The iPod® can be cleaned with the supplied surface cleaner.

2. The protective skin itself has a protective film, peel the film back half-way.

Avoid touching the unprotected part of the skin.

3. Line-up the top and sides of the skin with the iPod®.

4. Carefully peel away the protective film from underneath the skin.

5. By using your finger and the protective film you can squeeze out any air bubbles by

rubbing them to the edge of the iPod®.

6. To install the protective skin for the back repeat steps 2 to 5.

An extra Docking connector is included to connect the Carcomm iPod® Cradle to

cars / car-stereos that already have an iPod® connection as standard or cars that

already have an iPod® interface. Simply plug in the cradle cable into the 8Pin DIN plug

and connect an iPod® cable to the contra connector.
