PLAYING THE iPLAY PIANO IN FREE PLAY MODE
On the small keyboard at the bottom of the screen, a red dot marks the "middle C". In this app the middle C is called C4.
In other music notation systems it may be called differently (C3 for example).
A blue bar shows the range of the iPlay Piano. This bar covers three octaves; from F to F, just like on the iPlay Piano.
Slide the blue bar one place to the left to make all three octaves sound one octave lower, move it to the right to make
them sound an octave higher.
With the buttons in the top right corner of your screen, you can unlock more functions.
To record a song session, press the Record button before playing the keys.
You can play, pause, and stop the opened recording by touching the Play / Pause and Stop buttons.
While a recording is playing, you can play the piano to accompany it.
You cannot record while playing along with a recording.
Recordings can be played with all different instruments; you can record a session with one and play it back with another.
Touching the iTunes button will open the iTunes menu, where you can select a song.
You can play, pause, and stop the selected iTunes music by touching the Play / Pause and Stop buttons.
While a song is playing, you can play the iPlay Piano to accompany it.
You can make a recording while accompanying an iTunes song. The song will start playing from its beginning when you
touch the Record button.
Close the iTunes song and /or recording by touching the close
Touching the Menu button will take you back to the Dream Cheeky Sound System menu page.
In Free Play mode, when you play a key on the iPlay Piano,
the corresponding instrument note will sound
on your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad.
The the big keyboard on the screen
represents the iPlay Piano, the key
that was played will light up.
At the same time a disk
move up the bar connected to that key.
On an iPad you can also play the top keyboard on the screen directly. On an
iPod touch or iPhone, you can't.
Middle C
Touch the Sheet Music button to go to the Open Sheet Music
Menu.
Touch one of the pre-installed sheets to open it.
On the screen the top key board will disappear, and the sheet
music will appear. Pinch to change the size of the sheet. And scroll
to show more bars.
While a sheet is showing, you can play the notes on the iPlay Piano.
Touch the Keyboard button to close the sheet.
You can add your own sheet music by adding it to iTunes on your
computer.
To stop and save the recording, press the Record button again.
A screen will pop up where you add a name for your recording and save it
by pressing OK, or cancel by pressing CANCEL.
You cannot replace a recording.
Touching the Open button will open the Saved Recordings menu. Sliding
over the recording name will pop up a Delete button, which you can touch
to delete a recording. Touching the name of a recording will open it.
