3.3 Sensor

The sensors available in the Atik GP camera are listed below:
Atik GP Mono
Atik GP Color
This CCD has Sony's EXview CCD HAD II™ technology embedded, making them
exceptionally suitable for low light work. Guiding on fainter stars or getting better
quality images on planets are practical benefits that the Atik GP provides.

3.4 Analog to Digital Converter (ADC)

The Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) has a 12-bit dynamic range. This means that
your Atik camera will allow you to record subtle levels of gray, providing you with
detail in both the faint and bright parts of an image.

3.5 Power Consumption

Since the Atik GP is USB powered, it is important to keep the camera on its own USB
port. If a hub is needed, make sure you use an active one, with its own power source.

3.6 Cooling

The Atik GP features passive cooling, meaning that heat from the electronics/CCD is
transferred to the aluminum case by dissipation. This helps keeping the noise down,
improving signal to noise ratio for guide stars and planets.
