6.2 INSTALLATION
There is no assembly required for the pump.
Provide adequate space for installation, leaving a minimum clearance space of 100 mm (3.93 in.),
For mounting to wally, it is necessary to provide adequate space (as is indicated by the installation diagram). Subsequently, it is
necessary to hydraulically connect the pump. During the disassembly phase, disconnect the hydraulic part.
7. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
7.1 PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
Check the integrity of the pump. (The unit can be opened and repaired only by specialized personnel.)
-
Ensure that the hydraulic connection has been carried out correctly.
-
Use lubricant that is free of impurities.
-
7.2 PUMP USE
The pump is mechanically operated by reciprocating action of the machine. It is important that the operating system allows for
the technical specifications of the project to be adhered to (stroke length, max. number of pumping cycles, etc.). The pump has
a reverse function where the piston is pressed, it goes into suction mode, while, when it is released, the oil is delivered for use.
We recommend carrying out a few cycles to bleed the air from the system.
Using the pump submerged in fluids or in a particularly aggressive or explosive/flammable environment is prohibited
unless it has been prepared ahead of time by the supplier for this purpose.
Wear gloves and eye protection as required by the oil lubricant safety data sheet.
DO NOT use aggressive lubricants for NBR gaskets; in the case of doubt, contact the technical office.
Never ignore health hazards and always follow sanitary regulations.
8. PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
FAULT
The pump does not dispense
the exact prescribed quantity
The pump does not dispense oil
at the prescribed pressure.
The pump does not dispense
and only weakly sucks oil from
the reservoir.
* The reservoir is not included within the scope of supply.
9. MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
The pump has been designed and built in a way to require minimum maintenance.
In order to simplify maintenance, we recommend installing it in a position that is easy to reach.Periodically check the joints of
the pipes and always keep clean the pump for leakage or faults.
The machine does not require special tools for any check and/or maintenance operations. It s recommended to use suitable
equipment and personal protective equipment (gloves) that are in good condition in accordance with applicable regulations to
avoid injury to people or damage parts of the pump.
ATTENTION: Ensure that the hydraulic power supply is disconnected before carrying out any maintenance operations.
In the event of doubts and/or irresolvable problems, do not search for the fault by disassembling parts of the machine, but
rather contact the Dropsa Technical Office S.p.A.

CAUSE
The pump sucks air because the
reservoir* is empty
The fittings are loose
Damaged pump
The check valve during suction can be
dry after long periods of non-use.
SOLUTION
Fill the reservoir* and bleed the system air
Carefully tighten all the fittings, ensuring that
there are no leaks
Replace the pump
Remove the suction fitting and allow a few drops
of oil fall onto the 90° valvular fitting. During the
first pumping cycles, the suction phase is forced,
making it prolonged compared to the release
phase, thereby allowing the pump to come under
pressure and fill the suction hose faster.
