Vacuum Operating And Maintenance Instructions
GENERAL:
in their manufacture have been chosen to provide you with top performance at a reasonable cost. To help you
realize maximum, economical performance at all times and to protect your investment, it is necessary that these
vacuums be maintained properly. Therefore, to gain these benefits, it is recommended that you follow the
instructions listed below. Responsibility for safe delivery was assumed by the Transporting Carrier who delivered your machine.
Any claim for loss or damage that may have occurred in transit, must be noted on Transportation Receiving Slip and immediately
reported to your local distributor.
1) MOTOR
The motor in this vacuum cleaner has been designed to provide you with many hours of trouble-free vacuuming performance. It
is recommended that new carbon brushes be installed after 750 to 1000 hours of service to avoid possible commutator damage. A
new or factory rebuilt motor should be replaced after the second set of brushes have been used. Replacement vacuum motors are
available from our local distributor.
2) FILTERS
As shipped from the factory, your vacuum cleaner is equipped with 2 filter bags, for wet and dry pick-up. The wet filter is used
instead of the dry filter for vacuuming liquids such as cleaning solutions and rinse water. This filter is not to be used for dry dirt
pick-up. It is important to keep these filters as clean as possible. Both filter bags are machine washable. Remove support ring from
filter before washing.
3) WATER SHUT-OFF
All wet and dry vacuum cleaners are equipped with a safety water shut-off device (called the Float Assembly). When the maximum
water level in the collection tank has been reached, the safety shut-off device will cut off suction automatically preventing further
liquid intake. This will cause the vacuum motor to race to a No-Load Higher R.P.M. Turn off vacuum and empty the tank.
IMPORTANT:
It is good practice to remove the power head from the collection tank after a wet pick-up operation and allow it to run for
approximately 1 minute before vacuum cleaner is stored.
CAUTION: Rug shampoo foam will not activate the shut-off float when foam is excessive. Check the water and foam
level in the tank periodically or use a defoamer to avoid overflow, resulting in motor damage. These vacuums are not
to be used for inflammable liquid pick-up.
4) TIPS FOR CONTINUOUS EFFICIENT VACUUM PICK UP
a) Check Attachment
If attachment is blocked by large objects, remove from wand and assure free air passage.
b) Check Wand
If dust particle build-up is not loosened by gentle tapping on the wand, reverse the wand to the intake of the vacuum
while the vacuum is switched on.
c) Check Hose
A clogged hose can be cleaned same as in b. A hole in the hose will reduce the vacuum power. A new hose is required
if the defect is in the centre. If damage is at either end, simply remove end cuff (turning clockwise), cut hose approximately
1 inch past faulty point and reinstall end cuff (turning counterclockwise). Also check hose swivel connection for security.
d) Clean Filters
Wash filter bags occasionally (remember to remove support ring). When dry, brush gently with a soft brush. The
exhaust filter in the power head should be replaced or cleaned every 4 to 6 months depending on dust conditions, to
allow the exhaust air to escape freely.
