Antenna will not turn using button on Base Unit
Make sure the transformer being used is the one supplied with the antenna.
Check connection by connecting antenna cable directly to the Base Unit marked
ANTENNA. If problem disappears, there may be a connection fault in the caravan built-in
TV antenna wiring.
Check pilot LED under the antenna head is on.
Make sure all wires are connected properly.
Make sure power is connected to base unit and switched on indicated by a red LED.
Make sure a green command acknowledge LED is on when button is pressed.
Ensure outdoor antenna unit has sufficient space for turning.
Ensure antenna wire has enough slack for rotation.
Ensure the antenna head hand screws securing to mast are not over tightened causing
the rotating motor to stick.
Carefully force the rotator motor to turn slightly by hand to free cogs.
Antenna will not turn using Remote Control
Make sure the transformer being used is the one supplied with the antenna.
Make sure power is connected to base unit and switched on indicated by a red LED.
Check pilot LED under the antenna head is on.
Press button on base unit to make sure antenna is set up properly and turns.
Check polarity of battery in remote control battery compartment.
Make sure batteries are good.
Make sure base unit is not in direct sunlight or bright light.
Remote control emitter soiled or blocked or pointing the wrong way.
Too far away from base unit.
Obstruction between remote control and base unit – must be in line of sight.
Ensure the antenna head hand screws securing to mast are not over tightened causing
the rotating motor to stick.
Clear picture on UHF but fuzzy on VHF or vice versa
Both TV stations are not in line with each other. Rotate antenna when changing TV
channels.
One of the stations is too close and signal is saturating the booster. May improve by
relocation of antenna.
Extend the telescopic VHF antennae fully for improved signal reception.
Retract the telescopic VHF antennae for attenuating strong signals.
There is a strong radio transmitter in the area. Relocate antenna.
Compatibility
Baluns are sometimes installed for isolation and impedance matching for passive antenna
systems. These devices are incompatible with active antennas especially with mast head
amplifiers or boosters. As power needs to be injected into the signal coaxial cable to go up to
the mast head amplifier, the balun becomes a short circuit to the power supply, hence burning
out the power transformer.
Check condition of caravan antenna inside/outside wall connection for oxidation, corrosion,
breakage or even bug nests as they will lead to poor connection and signal loss. Heavily
oxidized or salt encrusted connection can lead to short circuit, in turn leading to transformer
failure.
For best results and trouble free operation of the Easytune antenna, connect 6m coaxial cable
from antenna directly to the back of Base Unit through window, floor board or opening through
caravan wall. Do not use antenna wall connection wherever possible.
