Preparing the Rhea Conditioning Unit (RCU):
With the RCU plugged
in, add hot tap water
to the 1.0 cup mark of
the removable bowl.
The
light will automatically
illuminate.
Place the lid securely
on the bowl.
Press the
DOWN.
The
remain illuminated
while the water heats.
When the water is boiling and the patient is
ready:
Press the
UP.
The water will
discontinue boiling
and the
indicator light will
illuminate.

Disinfect strainer and boil pot after each patient use. Cold
Cook

sterilize with spray disinfectant and rinse thoroughly between
uses.
Warm
Remove the RCU lid.
Place the appliance
into the strainer with
the internal (teeth) side
down, the occlusal side
facing up.
Submerge the strainer
with the appliance in
place into the boiling
water for a count of
12
seconds. no longer.
Remove the appliance
from the water and
turn it internal (teeth)
side down onto a
paper towel. Shake
off excess water.
Note: The RCU will automatically switch to
bowl disengages from the heating element. Unplug the RCU
when not in use.

appliance into the
patient's mouth.
Instruct the patient
to bite down firmly
and ask them to
hold this position for
5 seconds.

usual.
