The TMP-609 Telephone Transmitter Patch provides the means to transmit a recorded
message or any audio from a recorder or PC over the telephone to another telephone or to a
telephone central recording system. In addition, the local party can adjust the playback level he
hears.
To Install:
1
Unplug handset coil cord from the base of the telephone and plug it into the smaller of
the 2 modular jacks on the TMP-609.
2
Plug the short modular cord from the TMP-609 into the modular jack where the coil
cord was.
3
Insert the 3.5mm plug into the audio output jack on the recorder (sometimes labeled
earphone; monitor or external speaker) or PC Speaker jack.
4
Plug in the power supply into the TMP-609 and a power outlet.
To Set Levels:
Important that these instructions are followed
1
Make a phone call to another phone.
2
Play back the recorded message to them and adjust the loudness on the PC or
recorder SO THAT IT IS THE CORRECT LEVEL FOR THEM. It is important that you
DO NOT set the playback level by listening to it in the local phone.
3
After the correct playback level is established by the far party, then adjust the local
phone's playback listening level with the adjustment on the TMP-609.
The local playback level is adjusted with a small screwdriver in the small hole in the top
of the unit. Note that while adjusting, the quietest point is in the center of rotation. Try
adjusting on both sides of center for the best sound level and quality.
If it is found that no local playback amplification is needed then the unit may be used
without the power supply.
