TREADBELT LUBRICATION Application
Step 1:
Perform push off test to determine need for lubrication.
Place the machine in Calibration mode, elevate to the highest elevation‐ speed should be set to 0. Stand on the tread belt
positioning yourself close to the console; push off with moderate force. The elevation combined with your weight and the force
of the push should cause the belt to carry you at least ¾ of the way to the end of the machine. If the test does not carry you at
least ¾ of the way to the end of the machine, lubricate the belt using the manufactured recommended lubricant. Please contact
Mobility Research Technical support for additional information regarding the treadmill lubricant.
Step 2:
Preparing the Treadmill
Unplug treadmill from the wall. The deck and underside of the walk belt should be clean and free from any foreign matter. Use a
clean cloth towel to remove debris from deck and underside of the walk belt.
Step 3:
Apply Silicone to treadmill
The deck and underside of the walk belt should be clean and free from any
foreign matter. Use a clean terrycloth towel to remove debris from deck and
underside of the walk belt. Cut the corner of the single application lube
packet and apply it to deck surface. Expose deck surface by lifting the edge of
the running belt. Generously apply the silicone lubricant to the deck surface,
spread evenly to cover surface. Repeat from the other side to insure coverage
to the center of the deck. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet and power
up the unit. Walk on the treadmill at low speed to spread the lubricant evenly
through the belt and deck. Machine is now ready for use.
Treadbelt Adjustment
The GaitKeeper's running belt has been properly aligned at the factory.
However, when the GaitKeeper is used on an uneven surface, please follow
these instructions:
1 Stand beside the GaitKeeper, place the safety key onto the control panel
and follow operating instructions for running the GaitKeeper at 5 mph.
2 If the belt is off center to the right, turn the left roller adjustment bolt
counter clockwise 1/4 turn. If the belt is off center to the left, turn the left
roller adjustment bolt 1/4 turn clockwise.
3 Let the machine run for several minutes to check the alignment. (Belt alignment does not need to be perfect). If more
correction is needed, turn the adjustment bolt 1/4 turn and check again.
Turn both rear roller adjustment bolts counter-clockwise until tread belt just begins slipping when walking on it, then turn
both rear roller adjustment bolts clockwise in equal quarter turn increments until tread belt stops slipping.
Note: Be sure to test the tread belt to ensure that the tread belt does not slip while under load.
