USER'S GUIDE
2.1 Installation:
1. Video modem may be operated in premises with ambient temperature from +5 to +45
relative humidity up to 80%. When transporting in winter conditions before switching on the modem it
is necessary to keep it in the factory packing at room temperature for at least 2 hours in order to get it
warmed up.
2. Place and secure the video modem safely on a horizontal surface or on the vertical surface using
the mounting bracket (supplied).
ATTENTION! In place of setting up avoid moisture ingress and direct sun light hit of the video
modem case as well as connected cables the power supply module.
3. During operation, the temperature of the video modem case may reach some scores of degrees
Centigrade. Place the video modem at an uncluttered area for free access of air to the case of the
device. Do not place things on the top of the video modem.
ATTENTION! When installing several video modems in one location it is prohibited to place the
devices horizontally one over the top of another one.
4. You are allowed to install the video modem in sealed box to satisfy open air operating conditions.
To purchase sealed boxes, please, contact your video modem seller.
2.2 Connection:
1. Insert the cable plug of the supplied power supply module into the video modem DC socket.
2. Connect the PSM to 220 V 50 Hz AC mains.
ATTENTION! For power supply of the video modem use only supplied PSM! Using another
power supply units is not admitted!
The indicator, located at the top cover of the video modem will flash with green light. If you do not see
this flashing, check connection of PSM cable with the video modem and voltage in the mains.
This indicator also ensures obtaining information concerning the video modem status:
one bright flash – pause — the video modem in ―waiting‖ state, no connection;
two bright flashes – pause — connection or disconnection is going on;
three bright flashes – pause — connection is established, data transmission is going on.
3. Connect RS-232 cable to the connector of СОМ port for communication through this PC port or 2-
wire phone cord to ―LINE‖ socket for communication over the phone line.
The length of 3-wire null modem RS232 cable may be as 100 m long. 9-pin cable wiring is shown
bellow.

4. Connect ―VIDEO‖ signal from the available TV cameras to the sockets of the video inputs ―1‖, ―2‖,
―3‖, ―4‖ of the video modem using shielded cables with BNC plug (or Y-connectors through an
adapter). Further, when working with the program, it is necessary to connect channels in number and
in compliance with numbers of the connected and operating TV cameras, as violation of this
requirement will result in wrong display of video information, degradation in contrast and increasing
brightness up to absolutely white windows on the screen.
5. Turn on and adjust TV cameras in accordance with the available instructions
