CAUTION: Fiber optic cable is sensitive to excessive pulling, bending, and crushing forces.
Consult the cable specification sheet for the cable you are installing. Do not bend the cable
more sharply than the minimum recommended bend radius. Do not apply more pulling force
to the cable than specified. Do not crush the cable or allow it to kink. Doing so may cause
damage that can alter the transmission characteristics of the cable; the cable may have to be
replaced.
Step 1:
Unlock panel and swing it open (Figure 8).
Step 2:
Determine where the cable willenter the cabinet and
remove the appropriate knockout.
Step 3:
Loosely install a watertight fitting into the hole where the
knockout was removed (Figure 9). Select the appropriate
feeder or distribution cable installation kit for the cable
being installed. One kit for each cable size is provided.
Step 4:
Feed the cable through the fitting into the cabinet
(Figure 10).
Step 5:
Measure the cable and remove cable sheath from the
end of the cable as indicated in Figure 11 and Table 1.
Prepare cable at the sheath removal point according to the
instructions provided with the cable.
