6. Immediately to the left of the Roller Holder Assembly are two black plastic actuators. The
longer actuator is the PE Actuator. Check each of the following statements which describe the
correct position and movement of the PE Actuator when the machine is in its normal upright
position:
a. The part of the actuator that is hanging down should be angled slightly toward the back of
the machine.
b. The actuator should easily rotate up and toward the rear and should immediately return to
the original position when released.
c. The actuator should not be able to rotate toward the front of the machine from its resting
position.
▪ If the PE Actuator is stuck or out of position, continue to step 7.
▪ If the position and movement of the PE Actuator are correct, proceed to step 16.
7. While holding the Document Cover closed, tilt the machine to lie on its back so that the front is on
top.
