Chapter 4
Checking the Server Information
The server information registered in the ETERNUS DX should be checked.
A variety of commands are used to check the following server information.
iSCSI initiator name
Execute the following command:
iscsiutil -l
The iSCSI initiator name is displayed in the "Initiator Name" column.
Server-side LAN card IP address for connecting to the ETERNUS DX
Execute the following command:
ifconfig
Set this IP address if it is not already set.
Initiator CHAP Name
The Initiator CHAP Name is the user name for unidirectional CHAP authentication. Execute the following
command:
This is not required if CHAP authentication is not used.
iscsiutil -pD
The Initiator CHAP Name is displayed in the "Initiator CHAP Name" column of the applicable target infor-
mation.
CHAP Secret
The CHAP Secret is the password for unidirectional CHAP authentication. Execute the following command:
This is not required if CHAP authentication is not used.
iscsiutil -pD
The CHAP Secret is displayed in the "CHAP Secret" column of the applicable target information.
