4. Scanning by Manual Feed (Single Mode)
The document is fed manually one sheet at a time and
scanned. This mode is suitable to scan documents
difficult to scan such as thick papers, envelopes and
folded papers using Automatic Feed Mode because it
scans documents placed in the feeding section
without separating them.
1) Lift the Pick Roller unit.
Push up the tab in the middle with your fingers.
The Pick Roller unit will be locked in place with a
clicking sound.
The Hopper will move up to the feeding position.
2) Set the document face up on the Hopper.
* For the time being, set the document a bit apart
so that its top edge does not touch the inner side
of the Hopper.
3) Start up the application and perform a scan.
4) Insert the document with its top edge touching the
rollers in the back.
If multiple sheets are loaded, only the first sheet on
top of the stack will be fed separately.
The document is picked up, scanned and
ejected onto the Stacker.
* To cancel Manual Feed (Single Mode), return the
Pick Roller unit to its original position by reversing
the procedure explained in Step 1.
5. Scanning by Manual Feed
(Continuous Mode)
Multiple sheets are fed manually, one at a time, and
scanned continuously. It scans each sheet separately
even if multiple document sheets are fed manually.
1) Adjust the setting to [1: Manual (Continuous)] from
[10: Hopper Level] of [Main Menu] screen on the
Operator Panel.
2) Set the document face up on the Hopper.
* For the time being, set the document a bit apart
so that its top edge does not touch the inner side
of the Hopper.
3) Start up the application and perform a scan.
4) Insert the document with its top edge touching the
rollers.
You can scan multiple sheets of a document one
sheet at a time as well as multiple sheets fed at
the same time.
The document is picked up, scanned and
ejected onto the Stacker.
* To cancel Manual Feed (Continuous Mode), select
a setting other than [1: Manual (Continuous)] for
[10: Hopper Level] in the [Main Menu] screen on
the Operator Panel.
