What to do if ...

Correcting Malfunctions

Perhaps a malfunction has been caused by a minor error, which you can
correct yourself with the help of the following instructions. Do not
attempt any further repairs if the following instructions do not help in
each specific case.

Warning! Freezers may only be repaired by trained personnel. Repairs
carried out by untrained personnel can lead to substantial danger for
the user. Please contact your dealer or our customer service
department for repairs.
Symptom
Appliance does not
function, green stand-by
display and temperature
display are not lit.
Red warning indicator
flashes, temperature dis-
play indicates temperature
too warm.
Red warning indicator
flashes, a square is shown
in the temperature display.
If the appliance door stays
open for longer than
10 minutes, the interior
lighting switches off.
Possible cause
Appliance is not switched
on.
Mains plug is not inserted
or is loose.
Fuse has blown or is defec-
tive.
Mains socket is defective.
Partial/complete thaw
warning.
Frozen food has become
warm enough to partially
or completely thaw out.
There is a malfunction.
This is normal, no fault has
occurred.
Solution
Switch appliance on.
Insert mains plug.
Check fuse, replace if
necessary.
Mains malfunctions are to
be corrected by an electri-
cian.

Please make a note of the
fault indicated and inform
customer service. Do not
open the appliance door
again.
