Set Up Instructions
1. Select a suitable location for the aquarium. It must
be placed on a flat, level surface, away from direct
sunlight and hot or cold air flow such as in front of
heaters or air conditioners.
2. Rinse the inside of the aquarium as well as the plants,
ornament and gravel with cold tap water. Discard the
water used to rinse these items.
3. Fill the aquarium with tap water to within 3cm from
the top. Add water conditioner as per the directions on
the bottle.
4. The aquarium should be run with the filter on for 4-7
days before fish are added.
Adding fish to the aquarium
1. After fish have been purchased, float the bag
containing the fish in the aquarium for 15 minutes.
2. Open the bag and pour some water from the aquarium
into the bag. This will help to slowly acclimatise the fish
to the pH and temperature within the aquarium. Leave
the fish floating for a further 30 minutes.
3. Open the bag and release the fish into the aquarium.
It is best to discard as much water from the bag as
possible to avoid overfilling the aquarium as well as
avoiding the addition of ammonia that may have
accumulated in the bag during the journey.
Cleaning and Maintenance
1. Disconnect and remove the lids and filter. Refer to
the filter's instruction manual for directions on how to
clean the filter.
2. Remove 15-25% of the water from the aquarium.
This is best done using an Aqua One gravel vacuum
(sold separately) which allows removal of waste from
the aquarium gravel while removing water.
3. Clean plants and ornament if required using
aquarium water only.
NOTE: Never use soaps or any cleaning chemicals on
any item that is to be used in an aquarium. Even if
chemicals are rinsed off after cleaning, residues can
still be harmful to aquarium fish.
4. Fill a separate container with enough tap water to
top up your aquarium, then treat it with Aqua One water
conditioner (the bottle will tell you how much you need)
and pour the mixture carefully into the aquarium.
5. Place the filter and lid back on the aquarium. Ensure
all aquarium components are in their original location
and the filter is running correctly.
