Setting Up Equipment

Setting up the Filter

As with all aquarium equipment, it is recommended to rinse the filter

components and media in clean water before installation. This is the

only time tap water should touch the filter media.

DO NOT WASH WITH SOAP, DETERGENTS, OR ANY

CHEMICALS NOT INTENDED FOR AQUARIUM USE.

Spray Bar

To install, the Spray Bars attach

to the Elbow and then to the spray

bar adaptor which connects to the

pump. Do not forget the End Cap

Correct Positioning in Aquarium

It is essential to keep

the filter body fully

submerged while in use.

Bettas do

best with

a low flow

rate.

If you are using

this filter for a

betta, removing

the end cap from

the spray bar will

create a gentler

current.

The ideal position for

the Internal Filter is

upright, with the outlet

submerged just enough

to create a ripple effect

on the surface of

the water minimising

splashing and the noise

of the filter.

End Cap

The filter pump should

not be out of the water;

this can cause the

motor to overheat.

Do not allow the filter

to sit in the substrate;

this may damage

the filter and will also

reduce efficiency.
